このプロジェクトは2012年にノーベル賞を受賞した莫言の元別荘群の分棟の中の歴史保護建築物５棟をホテルへリノベーションするプロジェクトである。設計するにあたり、①歴史建造物の持っている特徴（木軸組み/ 平面構成/ 自然の呼応）を最大限保存し、伝統的な美しさを継承すること。②そのままでは現代人の生活習慣に適さない、鰻の寝床のような平面や、極端に起伏のある天井など、デザインを入れていくことでこの建築空間特有のホテルを作りあげることをテーマとしている。
新旧の魅力が融合したホテルを目指した。
This project is a renovation of 5 protected structures within the former villa of Mo Yan — the 2012 winner of Novel Prize in Literature — into hotels. We endeavored in (1) preserving most of the protected structure’s original features (its wooden framework, planar composition, and harmony with nature) and (2) incorporating long and narrow planes and ceilings with extreme undulations within the design, in order to create a hotel with an architectural space unique to the site.
The aim was to create a structure integrating the appeals of both old and new.
项目旨在改造包括2012诺贝尔文学奖获得者莫言先生的原别墅在内的5栋杭州历史保护建筑物为精品酒店。 在设计时我们突显了历史建筑物特点，同时加入了现代设计的元素， 新旧建筑元素相结合提升了原有历史建筑物的魅力。
